2019 Girls Spring Recreation League

5/6 & 7/8 Evaluation Information

Thank you for your patience while we brave this March weather and have had to reschedule evaluations. To help run the evaluation process more efficiently, we ask that you pre-register your player if they are being evaluated for the 5/6 A team or the 7/8 A team.   See below for the registration link.

Here's some important information about evaluations:

  • Evaluations are for players who have lacrosse experience who are trying out for the A team and can fully commit to the WCLA lacrosse program.

  • Evaluations are Saturday, March at 8:30 AM and Sunday at 11:30 AM. Callbacks are on March 12th at 6 PM.

  • Players are to attend the Saturday and Sunday sessions if possible. If they cannot make the 9th and 10th, then they may attend the 12th.

  • Upon making the A team, you and your player will be asked to sign a commitment letter saying that WC lacrosse practices and games take priority in their activities and sports schedule.

  • Please note, we are at record numbers for the girls registered at the 5/6 level and expect the evaluation to be competitive.

  • B teams will be structured as balanced teams.

  • If your player is choosing to be on a B level team, she does not need to attend evaluations.

  • You do NOT need to attend evaluations if you know you know that will miss multiple practices and games during the season due to other conflicts.

  • If you cannot make any of the 3 dates above, or know that you cannot commit to the A team practices and games, you will be placed on a balanced B team.

  • If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, coachgwclax@gmail.com See you on the field!

The WCLA Girls Spring League is a competitive recreation program.  As a member of the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association (“PAGLA”), WCLA adheres to their guidelines.  The Girls Spring League is lead by WCLA Girls Director, Amanda Gionfriddo, and is enhanced by a staff of paid former high school and collegiate players/coaches, and experienced parent volunteers.

All players are expected to be committed to their teammates, coaches, and to the program. While conflicts do arise and are understandable, participants are expected to attend practices and games.  Practices will be held at Rustin High School, Kelly Field, or other fields within the West Chester Area. For grade levels 5/6 & 7/8, practice and games field locations and team rosters will be posted on this website after player evaluations that will take place March 5th, 7th, and 12th at Kelly Field (with make-up dates the following week if weather is an issue).  Games begin in April and run to late May.  The coaching staff and West Chester Lacrosse Association directors will make team assignments.  Please note, we are unable to accommodate team or coach requests.
