2023 Boys Spring League

The WCLA Boys Spring League is a member of the Chester County Lacrosse Association (“CCLA”) for age groups 5th/6th and 7th/8th. WCLA adheres to its guidelines.  For the 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th grade age groups, teams are run "in-house". The WCLA Boys Spring League teams are staffed with paid former high school and collegiate players/coaches and experienced parent volunteers.  The coaching staff and West Chester Lacrosse Association directors will make team assignments for each division. Players cannot "play up"; they must play in the grade they are assigned in school.

Grade Divisions

3rd/4th

CLOSED

  • Boys in 3rd & 4th grade

  • Evaluations are the weekend of March 12th, times TBD

  • Practice begins in early March​​

  • 2 practices per week in preseason (March) and 2 practices per week, Monday & Wednesday in-season (April-May) at West Goshen Park, 6 PM - 7:15 PM​

  • 6 v 6 format

  • New this year- Games are in-house Saturdays and/or Sundays; a potential playday may be scheduled 

  • Opening day is April 1st at Kelly Field

2023 Early Registration Fee: $275

After 1/15/23 Registration Fee: $325

1st/2nd

  • Boys in 1st & 2nd grade

  • Teams will be fielded based on enrollment and skill level​

  • Teams will play primarily in an in-house league on Saturday mornings with potentially scheduled playdays 

  • Opening Day is Saturday, April 1st, at a local WCASD/township field

  • Optional Thursday evening skill sessions are scheduled at West Goshen Field from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM beginning April 5th 

  • 6 v 6 format

7th/8th

  • Boys in 7th & 8th grade

  • Evaluations are Saturday, 2/25: 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM,  A-Z, and Sunday, 2/26: 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM A-Z. Callbacks are Wednesday, 3/1- 6 PM - 7:30 PM

  • Preseason begins after evaluations in late February

  • 2-3 practices per week starting in preseason (March), and then 1-2 practices in-season (April-May)

  • Games on Saturday in season (April-May)​

  • Make-up games during the week

  • Playoffs/Championships begin June 1st

  • Teams are leveled A and B

  • Evaluations are Saturday, 2/25: 1:15 PM - 2:30 PM A-L, 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM M-Z, and Sunday, 2/26: 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM  A-L, 1:15 PM - 2:30 PM: M-Z. Callbacks - Tuesday 2/28- 6 PM - 7:30 PM

  • Preseason begins after evaluations in late February

  • 2-3 practices per week starting in preseason (March), and then 1-2 practices in season (April-May) ​

  • Games on Saturdays in season  (April - May) 

  • Make-up games during the week

  • Playoffs/Championships begin June 2nd
